I'm working on a sabbatical project trying to develop a finger tracking system (based on Johnny's idea) for use in conducting class for music majors. I'm trying to learn Java but am not a computer programmer by any stretch. Can anyone lend a hand/point me in the right direction? I prefer Mac software but also want cross-platform usage (thus the Java reference). I've played around with WiiMoteWhiteboard, Osculator, and some other projects but don't know how to wed these things together.
