i've installed the IVT BlueSoleil 5.0 for 32 bit windows however after restarting, the Bluetooth device will not turn on. When i click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, it displays the bubble message "Can not start Bluetooth. Bluetooth hardward is not found"


It was working fine before the blueSoleil install. how do i resolve this ?

you have installed the bluesoliel drivers and are trying to access the windows utility.

if you install BS then you have to use it, if you install default windows drivers, then you can use the control panel app

what device do you have? have you ran BS app and tried to connect?

This is the same problem i get with bluesoleil, previously my bluetooth device was confirmed to pick up the wiimote, and at least it could see it. However the wiimotelib test app would not recognise it, so I felt I had to go down the blueSoleil stack route.

Whether running BS or its equivalent 'bluetooth places' desktop icon it always returns the error, 'Can not start bluetooth. Bluetooth hardware is not found'

Its a broadcom bluetooth adapter that came with my HP dv9572ea laptop, vista 32 bit.
drivers all up to date, reboot etc so I've exhausted everything I can think of.

As atomriot suggested, i dont think i am 'trying to access the windows utility'

I'm having the same issue.  I just installed a Truemobile 355 BT card in my laptop, and windows picked it up.  I installed BS and it didn't recognize the BT hardware.  So I uninstalled BS and the VR isn't recognizing the Wiimote

atomriot. i'm running XP on a Mac. the device is Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator (running the Apple built-in Bluetooth). I've tried this on a PC as well to similar effect.

I've tried the BS app, but it gives me the same problem

Hi mates!

I had the same issues of bubble message "Can not start Bluetooth. Bluetooth hardware is not found"  Cry

btw, i scanned the neighborhood devices with the built-in Microsoft's bluetooth scanning system, and it detects, for example, my mobile (and i hope my future Wiimote Tongue ). The real question is: can i do finger tracking without BlueSoleil?

I guess the system is about something like this:

1)Bluetooth scanning system(Microsoft's or BS) detects Wiimote
2)You start the Sample Grid Program for Finger Tracking
3)This program shows you the interaction between your Wiimote and your fingers.

correct me if i'm wrong, i'm very interested in this project  Tongue

Hi!

I have the same issue.
I use XP, BS 5.0.5.178, Sepia BT Dongle.

In BS, the Wiimote "Nintendo...." is visible, the Mouse (HID), too. But when i try to "connect":
"Cannot connect, try again"

WHY??  Sad

i have not tried (or ever seen) xp on a mac but i assume its just like running a virtual pc on a pc in the sense that you may have access to the hardware (in this case USB ports) but it is using its own drivers to control things.

Unless you send me your mac (or buy me one, heh) i can only speculate but have you modified the code at all and can you run the wiimote library test app found on codeplex.com?

I have the same issue Sad

My laptop is a HP Compaq nx6325 with a built-in BT Broadcom device and windows XP, i installed the BS 5.x version, removed and installed 2.x and i have the same dialog message which tells "Please insert a Bluetooth device"

Btw, the Windows' BT manager detects my BT device, and detects my Wiimote (Nintendo RVL-CNT-01) but it claims for a PIN code to synchronize the devices.

How can i avoid this?

I just want to point out that BlueSoleil 2 only supports USB, CompactFlash card (UART or BCSP) and possibly PCMCIA. That means that you cannot use BS together with your built in BT hardware. I didn't realise at first but everything worked fine after I found my an old USB dongle.

I've been having the same problem! I'm using a bluetooth Dongle and when I use the software that came with it (kensington) it connects the wii remote easily. But....when I run desktopVR it claims it can not find a Wii remote connected. I've tried bluesoleil (both ver. 5 and 2.) but that wont even recognize my Donlge! Someone please help! Cry


P.S. I've been trying to find a solution for a week now help would greatly be appreciated Smiley

Same problem here.

I am using a Pavillion HDX 9050 laptop with built in bluetooth from broadcom, but Bluesoleil simply refuses to recognize the hardware.

I'm am trying to get desktopVR to work, but the program says the wiimote is not connected, even though it is. I can connect the wiimote using the windows bluetooth thingy and this works fine with wiimotelib, but not VR. That's why I'm hoping Bluesoleil might work, but as long as it won't I'm still not getting anywhere.
