I'm having a problem connecting two Wii remotes to my computer. I'm using BlueSoleil 6.2.227.11 and Windows 7 Professional x64. The procedure I follow to connect a remote is as follows:

Bring up BlueSoleil "classic view"
Press 1+2 on Wiimote, which connects it automatically to the computer
Right click Wiimote's icon in BlueSoleil, select "Connect Bluetooth Human Interface Device"

After that, the remote works with GlovePIE and Wiinremote and everything else. However, I can't get any other remote to work, even if it's the only one connected. I follow the same steps in BlueSoleil, and everything works fine, but WiinRemote doesn't show any data and GlovePIE doesn't respond to any input. Is there something I inadvertently did while connecting the first remote for the first time that I'm not doing with any of the other remotes? I've tried using the red sync button instead of 1+2, but to no avail. Anyone got any info for me? Thanks!

Hi,

You may need to remove the unused Wiimote's profile stored on your computer. This can be found in System->Device Manager->HID devices.

The software may be trying to connect to a Wiimote previously connected to your computer although you have another one connected.

You may try to use Smoothboard to test as it supports connection to two Wiimotes. If the Wiimote appears as a second Wiimote and the first Wiimote to be empty, this is caused by the first Wiimote not being present although it is registered with the system.

When I go into the device manager, one "Bluetooth HID Joystick" shows up for each Wiimote connected. If I disconnect both, then both entries in the device manager disappear.

Hi,

You should try to remove all the devices and then pair up with the devices that you intend to use.

This will eliminate the issue with a redundant/non-existent HID device that the applications are trying to connect to.

Is Smoothboard able to connect to both/ or the second Wiimote?

That didn't change anything (turning on and connecting both Wiimotes, and uninstalling them through the device manager). Everything continues to work exactly how it did before. And no, Smoothboard isn't detecting the second remote, even after setting it to two-Wiimote mode. It shows the battery level of the first one, but not the second one.

Maybe if you could post a screenshot of the device manager with the tabs for the devices open, we may be able to assist you better.

Okay, here's a screenshot with as many useful windows open as possible. If it matters, in the top-right corner, the left box is for the working Wiimote (the one whose battery level is shown in Smoothboard, and whose data is being shown in WiinRemote,. etc.). On the right side, the top dialog box is for the working one as well.

Hi

Please extend your screenshot for the device manager to show everything
Normally there should be a Bluetooth HID/virtual HID device. Smoothboard will look for this device in the list. In your case you should have 2.  Maybe you can try removing everything in the Human Interface devices list and reconnect the wiimotes to see whether it works

I have attached the screenshot of my computer as an example but only 1 wiimote is connected

I've got some new info. I installed BlueSoleil on my laptop, using the same Bluetooth dongle I used on the desktop. This time, the second Wiimote was the only one that would work with the laptop. Just like with the desktop, the other remote would connect just fine, but it wouldn't relay any information to any other applications. Just to be clear, the Wiimote that works with the desktop and the Wiimote that works with the laptop are two different ones.

This isn't however the first time I've used Bluetooth on my laptop. A few days ago I used the default Toshiba stack, but I can't remember if this Wiimote (the one that currently works with the laptop) was the very first one I connected to the laptop. Sounds like maybe the very first Wiimote that connects to the computers is the only one that will properly work thereafter.
