I'm having trouble connecting a second wiimote to my HP Laptop.  I'm using the built in Bluetooth wireless.  I've been following the instructions for the widcom bluetooth stack.  I have no trouble connecting the first remote, but the second connection will only flash on for a second.  I click on the icon for the wiimote that is not connected and then click on bluetooth setup wizard.  The wiimote is found and I check it off in the screen that appears.  At this point I can see that wiimote icon change to connected for a second.  But when I click finish, it does not connect.

I'm Running Windows XP Prof. on an HP Compaq 6715b.  The BT uses a Broadcom Driver.


A couple of things I have done:
I renamed the two wiimotes to "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01 LEFT" and "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01 RIGHT"

I can connect either remote, which ever I try first works fine, just not the second.

I downloaded Blue Soleil and I was able to connect both at the same time, but it was a trial thing and could only be used for a limited time and so I have uninstalled it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar problem. I connected the first one with no problem. Then I could not get the second one to keep its light on. The difference was afterwards I tried to connect only the 2nd one and it would not connect to Smoothboard. It only let the original one connect.
So I went into my bluetooth neighborhood folder and deleted both wiimote icons and tried again. This time I used the 2nd wiimote first. It connected without a problem..but the first one would not connect. I am a little baffled.
BTW - I have blown away everyone in my school with this. I have kids looking through my classroom window just to see it in action. Thank you so much for making this accessable to the public.

I seem to have figured it out.  If I right click on each of the wiimotes and choose disable before I start the procedure, then I go through the steps to connect.

1.  Blue Tooth Setup Wizard, then choose I want to find a specific blue tooth device and configure how this computer will use it's services.
2.  Press and hold the 1 and 2 buttons on the remote until step 6.
3.  Select the device and click Next.
4.  Click Skip when asked to pair.
5.  Check off the wiimote in the "Select service..." anc click Finish.
6.  The computer makes a da-ding sound and then I let go of the buttons.  About 6 seconds later the green connected symbol shows up

Repeat for other Wiimote.

If you don't disable the wiimotes it will just flash connected then go to disconnected.
