I have an Iogear adapter, forget the exact model. Uses the same Bluetooth chipset as the Wii itself, at any rate.
It's incompatible with BlueSoleil, but it sees the Wiimote, connects to it, and reads data from it just fine with every Wiimote app I've ever tried....

....Except the WiimoteLib, and Jhonny's programs.
I'm very interested in trying out the VR headtracking demo, but need to find a way to make the WiimoteLib see the Wiimote through my adapter and the Widcomm stack it's running.

Any suggestions?

No dice. Still get the error.
When I said "WiimoteLib", I meant the test app, BTW. I didn't really make that clear.

so i assume you have other bluetooth devices since you have the adapter. can you connect anything else and use it with that dongle?

Yes. I have a bluetooth-enabled PDA that works perfectly with it.

But, like I said, my adapter works with the Wiimote, just not programs built off the Wiimote Library.

I've used other Wiimote applications that used home-made connection drivers, and they all work flawlessly. I only run into problems when trying to use BlueSoliel, or a WiimoteLib program.

(Though I actually only bought the BT adapter to use a Wiimote with my computer....)

what sort of "home-made connection drivers" are you talking about, and what other apps?

I have tried all of the following Wiimote apps (none of which use the same Wiimote communication library as Johnny's apps), and met with success with each of them:

WiinRemote

GlovePIE
