right after updating to SP3 I can no longer connect.

 XP SP3
  Bluetooth Stack: Microsoft 4/13/2008 5.1.2600.5512

1)I can connect manually within the bluetooth screen, but then I try to open wiimotewhiteboard and it fails with "no device in HID list".  I go back to the devices page and sure enough the wiimote is no longer listed

2)I tried it with smoothboard, and it can see the wiimote, but then it goes to "installing..." then fails and goes back to "connecting..." in a repeated loop

3)I tried with wiimoteconnect and it connects then has a pop up that says "may not have installed correctly"

Hi,

Have you tried to remove the HID devices found in your HID list in Device Manager.

It seems that you have conflicting devices which causes your problem.

I've just tried this.  I didn't delete the mouse (since I'm using it) so it's the only thing listed in HID.  Shouldn't the wiimote be showing up as an HID device?  it's not...

Hi,

Maybe you should try connecting your Wiimote to another computer to test it out.

Also, reinstall your Bluetooth device drivers as during the windows update, there may have been conflicts.

If unsuccessful, you can try another Bluetooth Stack such as Bluesoleil.

We were not seeing "Bluetooth HID device" in the HID list in device manager.  we took out the BT adapter, uninstalled the drivers, then loaded blue soleil (found it was included on a CD with the BT adapter).  now it shows up in HID list and all is working again.

Thanks Boon Jin!
