Title: SOLVED - Problem with WiiMultipointGrid finding Wii Mote Post by: Zeke on October 03, 2008, 04:44:28 PM Hi everyone!
I trying to get the WiiMultipointGrid.exe to run and work on my computer. I have connected the Wii mote to my computer and I can find it in the Windows Controll Panel. However when I run the WiiMultipointGrid.exe it tells me the Wii mote is not connected. I'm using a Bluetooth from Billonton but I'm not sure if it is the Billionton GUBTCR42 so I was thinking this might be the problem. But in any case windows can find it. Thanks for any kind of input and advice. Cheers! Title: Re: Problem with WiiMultipointGrid finding Wii Mote Post by: benpaddlejones on October 03, 2008, 05:51:22 PM Zeke
How are you connecting the device? This is an internal device so I assume coupled with Widcomm stack. You may need to change the code: http://www.wiimoteproject.com/wiimote-and-bluetooth-connectivity/i-cant-get-my-*insert-johnnys-app-name-here*-to-connect-help!/ (http://www.wiimoteproject.com/wiimote-and-bluetooth-connectivity/i-cant-get-my-*insert-johnnys-app-name-here*-to-connect-help!/). This will allow the app to work with any BT stack. Benpaddlejones :) Title: Re: Problem with WiiMultipointGrid finding Wii Mote Post by: Zeke on October 05, 2008, 12:00:46 PM Hi
Thanks for your help. I replaced the code in wiimote.cs file like "I cant get my *insert Johnnys app name here* to connect Help!" recommended you to, but I got the same results. I'm using an external Bluetooth adapter from Billionton connected in a USB slot. I looked up which Bluetooth was usable for the WiiMote connection and it mentioned a Billionton Bluetooth device but I can't tell if the one I have is the right one. I know that my Bluetooth thing is old and I was thinking that might be the reason. However I can't tell for sure and I was thinking it would work since I could connect the WiiMote to my computer using it. If anyone who knows anything about this any help would be appreciated When I run the WiiMultipointGrid.exe I get the error message:"Cannot find a wii remote:Error reading data from Wiimote...is it connected?" Thanks for the help Title: Re: Problem with WiiMultipointGrid finding Wii Mote Post by: benpaddlejones on October 05, 2008, 09:07:39 PM Zeke
Lets start whith checking you BT is functioning, I need some info and ask you to do a few basic tests. Which BT stack are you using with the Dongle? What is you connection sequence? Connect a BT mouse/phone/other device and confirm BT works? Try running Boonjins Whiteboard app (www.boonjin.com/wp) does it work? Firstly, thanks Benpaddlejones for your help, time and input it really help a lot Sorry I haven't had time to try the Whiteboard yet but I'll run a test for it tomorrow. About the BT if it works, it work I can connect my phone without a problem. I'm using the built-in BT stack in Windows Vista I belive version 6.0.6001.18000. I'm sorry to say I don't know how to check for the connection sequence I'm using. I don't know what I'm looking for since I don't know what it is. Something I did try was the WiimoteConnect-0.5 and it could connect my Wii mote to the BT Thanks for you further help. Cool, Thex's WiimoteConnect is an awesome utility, will fix all your connection problems. I wish Thex would make compatible with Widcomm :'( but he doesn't come by these streets anymore. If you still have problems running the program (and Wiimote Smoothboard works) your issue is: http://www.wiimoteproject.com/wiimote-and-bluetooth-connectivity/i-cant-get-my-*insert-johnnys-app-name-here*-to-connect-help!/ (http://www.wiimoteproject.com/wiimote-and-bluetooth-connectivity/i-cant-get-my-*insert-johnnys-app-name-here*-to-connect-help!/) Benpaddlejones :) Title: Re: Problem with WiiMultipointGrid finding Wii Mote Post by: Zeke on October 08, 2008, 03:44:05 PM Haha I'm so stupid!
I'm sorry I took your time Benpaddlejones. The problem was that I didn't build the project. I had already replaced that part of the source code but I had forgotten the last step. Thanks for your help and time it gave me hope when things started to look bad ;D Now it runs perfectly and smoothly. Thanks again and good work on the forums! Zeke Over and out |
