Hey,

After connecting the wiimote to the mi notebook (Dell Inspiron) with WiimoteConnect, I can't run applications (WiinRemote, Smoothboard, VR desktop, etc).

the wiimote successfully connects using thex app or the "traditional" windows method but I get error messages when I try to run the apps:

WiinRemote:
no activity in the Motion Sensor graphs and the IR sensor window
but the wiimote image on the left side of the app is highlighted (controller detected)...

Smoothboard:
Error message: "Exception: Error reading data from Wiimote... is it connected?"
After running this app, the 3 flashing lights of the wiimote stops blinking and the first light stays permanently on, but the wiimote is not recognized...

Desktop VR:
Error message: "Cannot find a wii remote... Error reading data from Wiimote... is it connected?"

Run all windows updates
Updated all HID drivers

OS: Win Vista Premium Home Premuim SP 1
BT Stack: MS Bluetooth v6.0.6001.22168
.net: 3.5

Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Cochi

Cochi
No conflicts I can see.

Lets try a few things:
1. Go to Dell and update all available drivers (everything you can).
2. Go to Microsoft do a 'Custom' update and run all available updates
3. Please confirm you are only using internal BT not a USB?
4. Try deleting the HID, download and open the Java whiteboard, click connect and see if it connects/works
5. Try then connecting using the manual method
6. Run Smoothboard

Before steps 4&5 make sure:
- Logged on as an Admin
- Disable Macafee & any other anti virus you have running

If this doesn't work we will try isolating your BT radio from Microsoft and load a different stack.

Hey,
I had a problem once that one app i tried out was somehow crashing the wiimote. After crashing my wiimote connected but no programm would connect. I removed the batterys from the wiimote for a few seconds and then put them back in and voila it worked again!

Ben,

I'm only using internal BT (no USB).

Updated latest drivers from Dell and run all Vista updates.
Followed all the steps you posted and I'm still having the same problem...
Also tried the remove battery "trick"

You might have developed a conflict in your HID can occur a number of ways. Becuase the Wiimote is not a supported HID by microsoft thye never check.

Try uninstalling verything and reinstalling.
