It depends on the application. I'm not so much dead set on method of making it occur if there's something works better for different applications. Having a shadow cast onto the table would confuse me if I were a little kid.

LOL Ben!

I was at IKEA yesterday - looking at various tables that could be transformed into multitouch-tables.

Including that table...

Great minds think alike!

I want to do a presentation to primary teachers with the table set up as a 'Graphics Tablet'. I think it is the perfect size, setup & price for Kindegarten-about year 2 to work on.

When I went to ikea I say dozens of tables that could be used for big kids the only problem in getting teh verticality for the projector. Which is why I pump for the rear projection, Microsft Surface is about $10,000US (and totally pointless) and the Smart Table is about $8000AUS but still under design I'm sure when released will be alot more.

I found a good wii-mote whiteboard compatible version of Settlers of Catan here:
http://mirror1.cvsdude.com/trac/saladyears/Cities3D/wiki
It's not perfect, but it is enjoyable and seriously cuts down setup time.

We were three working on that: me (insert_nick), Wiweeyum and Deceit.

We were going strong, even if not in the same physical place. There was a private forum mantained by Wiweeyum where we put all of our ideas, progress, etc.

Then, for no apparent reason, Deceit became unreachable: he didn't write us a line, and his mail address bounced messages. I asked Wiweeyum to try contact him but it was the same for him.

Then the entire forum was closed from Wiweeyum without any alert to me, and after some time I asked him to restore it (because I had written a lot of stuff there which I wanted to reach), with a mail message I sent him in May, but I'm still waiting the reply.

I still would like to have that forum in place (or at least a backup of our threads), and to know what happened to Deceit: I hope nothing to worry about.
