Hi everyone

I am wondering if we could connect the wiimote to the PC with a cable, not the bluetooth.

NEED URGENT HELP

Hey eyucel,

I personally do not know of any way or any cable that will allow you to use the wiimote with your pc.  Bluetooth seems to be the only way I know of.   

Are you trying to connect via usb cable or com port?

I think you would need to physically modify the wiimote to get something like that to work.  And I have not seen it done yet, though it might be possible.

Any reason you do not want to use bluetooth?

Maybe someone else here has seen it done and can help you better.

Connection could be via usb cable or com port, does not matter.
The reason is information security in general and secure connection.

Hmmm Security for a interface device connection.  Kinda like securing a mouse connection.  Do you worry about others using the Wiimote?  Or people sniffing the bluetooth packets?

It seems like allot of trouble to get a secure connection.  Though I can see people using the wiimote when your not there.   Or trying to cause interference with the bluetooth connection.  Will the device be used in a public environment?

I am just interested in security and would like to know more about what you want to do.

Hopefully someone here will be able to help you out.

it is not going to be used in public environment, but in short, regulations are against wireless communication.

Anything is possible. however, that would be a fundemental change to the way the wiimote works, your talking
a bit of actual changes in circuitry there. youd have to disable the inbuilt bluetooth emitter/adapter, and add a chip
to interpret the actual information to send via an added usb chip, which in turn would need to be able to communicate with the PC which means new software/drivers.

at least thats my first guess. if there is an easier way i do not know it.
