would it be possible to use fibre optics that emmit infra red light and put them in gloves.... that way there wouldnt be any bulky LED's at the finger tips off course ud ave to use a bundle of the to get the wiimote to pick up the Infra red light....

This is an intriguing idea, but I don't think that the end of the fiber would emit enough light, especially not in a brightly lit room. They also make some very tiny LED packages these days. You don't have to use a 5 mm LED. Anyway, if you send me a bit of fiber optic cable I will definitely try your idea. Email me and I'll give you my address.
