Hi all,

I’ve been fiddling with this wiimote whiteboard for quite some time now, and got it working
on one particular laptop using just the smoothboard software. However, now that I’m using
my school-laptop, it won’t work anymore. Neither smoothboard or the original software from
mr Lee is working, but my big issue is with the freeware program Open Sankoré.

Here’s what I’m getting and what I’ve tried:

Both on Smoothboard and Lee’s software I get the following:

“Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application.”

Before this I got a different error I can’t recall. The solution I found for that was simply to
update my .Net software. I did this, which appeared to solve the previous error, but create this
one. I then “repaired” the .Net software through my WinXP configuration panel.

On the Open Sankoré front, I was clueless at first. The program works like a charm when
using the regular mouse, but it doesn’t seem to have ANY options to operate it with the
wiimote and an IR pen (although I know it is possible). I did some reading on the matter
and found out some of “Uwe’s” software should solve this problem. I downloaded his
Java “wiimotewhiteboard” to connect my wiimote to the program. Here I get the following
error:

“Wiimote failed to connect! Not supported on winsock”

I get the same error on every computer I've tried this dongle/wiimote setup with.

I’m using a regular Nintendo Wiimote with the cheapest Bluetooth connector money could
buy on ebay (one of those tiny mushroom shaped ones). The computer recognizes the remote
as it should with the correct name and all, but somehow the wiiboard software doesn’t seem to
like it…

Any clues on how to solve this problem? I’m due to present the project to my school’s board
of directors on Thursday and running out of options quickly… Please help!

Hi,

You may want to try to update the .Net Framework from the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

If you still have issues with the software, you may contact us at [email protected]
