I'm using a AA battery eliminator (with slight modifications as described) and I'm coming up with 127% power on the wiimote when I fire up the whiteboard.


Is that a huge problem?

Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm new to this and I don't want to burn anything down. 

So - in theory, I litterally just buy/find a 3 volt AC adapter, cut off its charging terminal and hook it up to the wiimote? but most AC adapters are not 3 volt.

If so-then this 3 volt adapter at the bottom of this page would work?

Yes, its that simple but...
1. Make sure 3v 1amp
2. Use a voltage meter to make sure definatley under 3v

I'm curious if you have tried this and if it has worked?? I found a product with the same numbers and am going to give it a go.  It's only $4, so I'll probably just give it a try.

I found a 3V 300mA over the weekend and tried it.  The was reading %132 on the wiimote.  MY wiimote is working, but I would definitely check with a voltage meter as BPJ suggested earlier in the thread.

Working like a charm! I used an eraser to hold the red button down, but I have found that syncing within the 10 sec (or whatever it is) time frame is unreliable.  Instead, I put another eraser in the stand I use and put the wiimote in upside down to hold the A & B buttons down permanently.  Great fix!! I'll try to take a photo of it at some point.
