There is absolutely no difference between hacking the bth.inf and a default MS stack USB. Is there a particular reason why you want a default USB stick? If so just buy one from Ebay nearly all their are MS stack (just ask the seller if any software needs downloading or installing if they say no then is a MS stack, but most tell you that now in the item description anyway.

Well i would presume that one difference is that if I need to hack the bth.inf to get the device to use the windows drivers, it may not be fully compatible.
So it is not so much that i necessarily want a default windows usb stick, i just want a stick that is KNOWN to work with default windows bt stack on windows xp sp3.
With my current configuration and dongles, the wiimote connects (shows up as active in wiinremote, leds can be set by a controlling application), but does not communicate any input data to the computer. So either there is an issue with the way sp3 handles HID devices or i have the wrong dongle, or something else entirely.
