I have purchased two dongles (Trendnet TBW-102UB and Belkin F8T013) and neither works with the native stack, which I want to use with wiimoteconnect. They both needed the bth.inf hacked. Both will sync with my wiimote, and it shows up as active in wiinremote, but I cannot send any data from the wiimote. I can flash LEDs using glovepie, but no sensor data comes back.

Before I waste more time doing diagnostics, I want a known-good dongle that is set up for the native windows driver. The wiibrew list does not contain any useful info in this regard.

Also, both work great with WIDCOMM 5.1.0.5500. But, no autoconnect!

There is absolutely no difference between hacking the bth.inf and a default MS stack USB. Is there a particular reason why you want a default USB stick? If so just buy one from Ebay nearly all their are MS stack (just ask the seller if any software needs downloading or installing if they say no then is a MS stack, but most tell you that now in the item description anyway.

Well i would presume that one difference is that if I need to hack the bth.inf to get the device to use the windows drivers, it may not be fully compatible.

So it is not so much that i necessarily want a default windows usb stick, i just want a stick that is KNOWN to work with default windows bt stack on windows xp sp3.

With my current configuration and dongles, the wiimote connects (shows up as active in wiinremote, leds can be set by a controlling application), but does not communicate any input data to the computer. So either there is an issue with the way sp3 handles HID devices or i have the wrong dongle, or something else entirely.

These issues sound very similar to: http://www.wiimoteproject.com/bluetooth-and-connectivity-help-center/software-wiimote-connection-not-working/?action=printpage

If it is a "conflicting bt stack," i am not sure how to remove widcomm any further than i have using the uninstaller (besides, in device manager i see the right drivers). Alternately, i can test on another computer and try to ensure that it does not have or load widcomm drivers.

Have you:
1. Completely removed Widcomm
2. Deleted all Bluetooth HID's
3. Hacked the BT.inf file
4. Restarted comp
5. Tested on a different BT device (mouse phone etc)?
