Hi all,
I am so into this project lately that recently purchased wiimote from the internet.
the problem is that even with the fresh batteries, it doensn't turn on.
no light no bluetooth signal at all, 
no response even with pressing 1 and 2 at the same time for a long time, or pressing sync on the back,
Is that because I don't have wii system to sync?

Welcome to the forum!

No you do not need a Wii-console.

Try your batteries again, verify by measuring or a flashlight or similar.

Also verify the polarity of the batteries.

If this fails then I'm afraid I cannot help you out and you might have to contact your supplier for a replacement.
