I searched the forum, but I didn't see anything.

I saw in Wal-Mart the other day that Nyko had built a Wii remote clone.  I wondered if anyone has tried to use this item in place of a wii remote for whiteboard projects, and if so, if they have noticed any reasons one would be better than the other.  Does anyone know of such an experiment?

Just try it, like my experience with wireless nunchuk.

I got a Nyko wand from Walmart - $10 cheaper.  The Nyko wand requires a passkey when pairing via Bluetooth.  There is no documentation with the wand and Nyko tech support does not know the passkey.  Too bad for them; this is the start of a new school year, many schools are living with reduced budgets while trying to keep up technologically.  I'm returning the wand.  Nintendo will get my money -- not Nyko.

Update: I did purchase the Wiimote, and I did get it working, although not optimally yet.  The problem I was having with the Nyko requiring a passkey was because I was using the BT software that came with the adapter.  I uninstalled it and tried the Microsoft drivers, and that allowed me to get around the passkey obstacle.  So the Nyko may have worked too with the Microsoft BT drivers.
