Hi this may seem like a stupid question but do I need a Wii console in order to do the projec(s). Like can i just get a Wii remote and do the projects? Thanks in advance.

HI!

You do not need the console, only the wiimote and you connect it by bluetooth to your computer.

Wiimote Friends

I must admit I find it a bit weird that I do so much with the Wiimote. Yet I don't own a console and have never actually played a Wii game!

Last night I just went out to walmart and bought a bluetooth dongle. Thanks to everyone for the great tutorials and troubleshooting. I'd never used a bluetooth device and the tutorials didn't assume I had before.

so to answer your question, no you don't need a console. And it's not too difficult to hook it up to the computer either.
