Hi all,
here I'm to post my first message.

I'd like to know if it is possible to have wiimote push buttons parted fom the device itself and linked to it through some wires (3-4 inch long at most).
I aim at having grater mobility.
If it is possible, what should I buy in order to carry out it? Is there any tutorial on this matter?

Best regards

Yes
Read: http://wyxs.net/web/wiimote/digital_whiteboard.html
Only has instruction how to hack out the red sync button, but it is the basics for what you need. There are a number of wiki's that have reverse engineered the wiimote and have quite detailed schematics that will help you source what for what inside the wiimote.

Thanks you all for this interesting documentation.
I'm going to dive into it.
Meanwhile, I ask you one more question (even if the documents you hint me an the other stuff I've collected for these days will answer me, maybe someone of you has already done what I'd like to do with wii and can tell me if it is possible) : can I remove wii accelerometer away from its main board and keep it connected with wii through wires (short ones, of course). Either is there any signl loss or I can safely carry out this work on wii? Of course I want the accelerometer to give me back the same output as it were on the main board...

Thanks again

Great question, I don't know.

This project doesn't deal much with breaking the wiimote up. Their was a post a few months ago (you will need to search the forum) which talked about a similar thing.

Theoretically it should work, practically is different.

What I do know is you need to use the absolute minimum desolder temperature and you still may screw your wiimote.

Goodluck
