Hi. I am new to the forum, though have been reading it over the past few weeks as I put together this project. It is an infrared musical instrument

One problem I am having is that the IR LEDs I have tried (TSAL 6400 and radio shack) arent tracked if the angle is more than about 15 degrees away from IR camera. I have tried putting some reflective tape or foil and that doesn't seem to add much as I feel I need 120 - 150 degrees. I have filed and polished and that didn't add much either, though i may not have done it correctly.

So I am left thinking about trying these: VSML 3710, or building a partially spherical LED array. Or maybe I just need a better technique for diffusing and using other materials. Please help me out with any advice!
