Hi,

You will just need an Wiimote without the Wii MotionPlus extension. The Wii Motion Plus is meant to accurately map the gamer's motion 1-to-1 to the character on screen for Wii games. Therefore, it will be unused in an interactive whiteboard setup.

Depending on your setup, you may need to have a permanent power supply for the Wiimote and a remote sync device. This will be useful if you have fixed the Wiimote on the ceiling with a projector and the Wiimote is hard to be reached.

In my opinion, you may just get a minimum set of products such as the Wiimote, Software, IR pen, Tripod and Bluetooh USB adaptor to test the system out. If you feel it is alright then you can purchase other items such as the  power supply.

To help you with the setup, you can download the Smoothboard User Guide from http://www.smoothboard.net/files/doc/Smoothboard_User_Guide.pdf.

You may also need black out curtains if the sun shines into your room in such a way that the Wii remote sees a spot of infra-red light. You will get a lot of debate on the board about what is "the best" IR pen. There are several (4 or 5) members here that make and sell IR pens. Check the market place and the seller's web sites for all lots of details.

The grove was I believe the first pen to have a pressure sensitive tip, so that using the pen feels natural, like writing with an actual dry erase marker, a few other pens also have this feature.

My sword II and the Penetrative II pens are super LONG, so that it is easy to stay out of the way of the Wii remote. This is important. If the Wiimote cannot see the IR light then it will not be able to help the software draw lines for you.

Most pens are built from a classic dry erase marker and work by pressing a button. All of my pens feature a current limiting resistor which makes it so that the LED only uses as much power as it needs and your batteries last longer. My pens also turn the LED 90 degrees away from the drawing surface and towards the Wii Remote. This keeps light from splashing all over the drawing surface, and possibly causing the Wii remote to lose tracking.
