I know lots of guys have been successful with the guideline of Johnny Lee, and I had gone through most of steps except that the Wiimote didn't see the IR pen when pointing to the crossair.
Naturally, I had thought that IR source was not powerful enough, so tried to point to wiimote IR window directly, the Wiimote could see IR pen and I can activate the remote control of computer, but it only does work when IR pointing to wiimote almost vertically. Does it mean the wiimote was not sensitive enough? But it surely works well when playing wiisports.Or it depends on the power of IR led?
I would feel appreciated if someone could give me any clues to go ahead.

simple, if you have a digital camera, like one on a cell phone, you can look through that at approximately the same distance as your wiimote and if you can see the IR LED lighting up on camera, then you should be good to go. This is how I verify functionality of my IR light source.

What IR-Led are you using?

It will answer all your questions and more.

Cool, My IR pen can work now, thanks for you two.(I used all of the recommended conponent,vishal6400,15oh resistor and 3v votage)
Otherwise, it works not so good when put into the PEN tube, it seems that the IR reflection is not strong enough, it was improved when I had turned the IR LED directly to the wiimote.
