Hey guys,

I am now very interested in the interactive whiteboard after reading everything here. I really want to make one, but i only need one more thing - a remote

 i don't want to have to buy an IR pen, as i don't want to spend a penny. I was wondering:

1) what are some good IR Led's i have around my home? anything that will work good.

2) Can i remove the IR Led's from whhatever their in? i.e. can i use a IR Led from a remote control? are the wires long enough? will it still work?
