Hi all,

I'm new here. Just finished my IR pen after seeing a youtube vid by Johnny Lee. I couldn't find any button/switch small enough to fit in a pen rather than using a big marker. I wanted to share with everyone where I got a small switch from because I haven't seen any vids/pics of any comfortable ones so far.

I took apart a mouse (computer mouse not the animal) and they have small momentary switches in them that are perfect. Plus they have 3 so you can make multiple pens or disect a mouse and share the parts with your mates.

Just take your time carefully desoldering the switches.

I hope this has been helpful or interesting to someone  Grin Post pics if you make an IR pen  Smiley

Thanks, I was wondering what to pull apart to get some tiny switches, and didn't even think of my stockpile of dead mice!

At the 99 cents only stores here in the Los Angeles area they often sell at little FM scan radio that is a gold mine of electronic parts. It has two little micro push button switches, a variable resistor, capacitors, and a battery compartment, etc.
