IR Pen problem??

Hi everyone,

Just like mr lee does in his video, he has the mote pointed at the computer screen and then does all the calibration stuff. Ive even tried with a projector but the only time my Wiimote can pick up my IR pen is when the light is pointed directly at the mote, therefore im not able to do any callibration when i touch the porjected surface, being the LCD screen or the projection on the wall. Any ideas??

Hi Eddy,

If you have created your own pen may I ask which IR LED you are using? I would suggest switching to a TSAL6400 if you haven't already, but you can also rough up the LED with a bit of sandpaper. This will create a bit of a diffuser on the LED giving a wider light dispersion.

You may be also having a faulty and non-genuine Wiimote.

My initial mistakes were;

1/ Believing I could get it to work with a weak LED
2/ I made my own pen which did not have the LED fully exposed
3/ If you made your own pen, is the right voltage battery used for the LED to get maximal brightness?
