I tested this out with my monitor today and it worked great. The detail was fine enough to draw with in Photoshop.

I glued a 1/4" nylon nut to the bottom of my Wiimote with gorliia glue. I let it set up overnight. Then, with the nut in place, I screw the wiimote on to a cheap 6" tall camera tripod (radioshack for 6bucks). I set the tripod with wiimote ontop on my desk pointing toward my lcd screen at about a 30-45 degree angle. I somtimes have to fiddle with the location so the wiimote can 'see' the full screen. With this pen I'll always set up the wiimote to my left. I just posted a couple pictures of the nut glued to the wiimote on my picasa paged that is linked in my first post above. Hope this helps.
