Hi All,

I just wanted to share my solution to spotty connectivity.  I mounted my led on top of the pen so that it faces the wiimote.  I used kneadable plumbers epoxy to hold the led and wiring in place.  I installed a switch at the tip and glued on a piece of felt so that it glides easily and won't scratch the whiteboard.  When writing with the pen the led is pointing directly at the wiimote which I have mounted on the side of my ceiling-mounted projector It works great.  Way beyond my expectations, actually.

Good work,

All of my pens use the same idea. The LED should point at the Wiimote, no doubt about it.

LED does not need to point at wii remote. Properly made pens is all you need with the right LED.

Anyone needs help, let me know

Hi All,

If the LED is right and the screen surface is suitable, the IR light can be reflected off the screen.

However in special circumstances where the screen is huge or the screen material does not disperse the IR light sufficiently to the Wiimote, you may need to have the IR LED facing the Wiimote for better tracking.
