Is there any IR pen that has been shown to work well that is ready made to buy?
Or are there any kind of LED pens which use a tip switch to activate that I could simply replace the LED with an IR LED?
I'm trying to find something as close to ready to buy without needing to hardware batteries into an Expo marker or similar.

Search only found your message ever mentioning "Innova"  Google turned up nothing as well.  What are they?  Who makes them?

I made my own, but these might work if you don't want to solder.

This was my first soldering project.  It was fun, and I learned how to solder, and I got a free wiipen.

Yes, there is now. We struggled trying to make a pen and decided its really not worth the effort unless you're really good at it. We spent some time trying to get a website together that could sell them, find manufactures, etc. Check us out at:

On my third round of searching for ready-made IR-pens, I've found:

I can't say if those are suitable for the "wiimote whiteboard" project or other projects. I think the important things to check are brightness and spreading angle of the light.

(The guys at www.infraredpens.com are still out of stock, maybe they've given up?)

The streamlight IR-Pen (same pen as sold by www.infraredpen.com) is no good for the Wiimote Ineractive Whiteboard.

The IR-Laser pen don't know?

Techguy might work for americans: $20 + $5 shipping.

For non-americans, techguy becomes costly counting shipping $12 + customs time/cost lottery. You can get a very similar pen from DX (3.79USD WITH international shipping + customs lottery) and find someone to add the IR-led (1 IR-led might cost 3USD in a local store).

The pen from ebay (Australia) with shipping AUD7 + customs lottery might break that deal.

Yeah sorry about the outside of the USA shipping costs I wish I could avoid that if anyone knows a cheap way to send stuff over seas I am open to suggestions.

You can buy one from me from axisos.ca/wwb and the shipping and stuff isnt too much. It depends where u live, i ship for really cheap to canada, but worldwide its 7 - 10 dollars shipping.
