Just bought some off ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200197162909&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=010
Here is the item number:
200197162909

And if you can't be bothered, here are the specs:
DESCRIPTION

20 INFRA RED 5mm LED’S

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

RADIANT INTENSITY  13--16 m/W/Sr AT If= 20m/a

RADIANT INTENSITY 55 mW/Sr AT If=100m/a

FORWARD VOLTAGE 1.2—1.5v

FORWARD CURRENT 20m/a

DOMI WAVELENGTH 940nm

HOUSING WATER CLEAR

VIEWING ANGLE 25 degrees

All I want to know is, will these work with ir pen set up with 1.5v (single battery) going through it. And also, if want to make some of those glasses, would these work too.
thx

the RADIANT INTENSITY 55 at 100m/a is on the low side, i think that johnny lee suggested 100mw/sr at 100ma led's..

these LED's look like the same ones that come from Radioshack, and those work fine.

It not a bad price for them, so I would go for it.

you're right, sorry about that... just checked the specifications from the tsal-6400 and it said 125 MAX... Smiley i thought it said was the norm Smiley

Bought the wrong ones myself Smiley turned out the be mini IR leds which had a rating of 6,3 mw/sr only Sad after 10cm they're out of range..
Should teach me to investigate better next time..

Do the Radioshack ones work well for the Whiteboard project?

It says at 20m/a it is less powerful, and at 100m/a it is more powerful (on my specs) how do I make it go to 100m/a, do I just pump the full 1.5v through or what?
