Not enough data to know if it will work (Wavelength etc) but if you read the comments it doesn't look very promising. Have you looked at the Marketplace in the forum. Much better Ir-Pens specifically designed for the Wiimote IWB.

Well I ordered it.  I'll let you guys know.

I have some IR LED's somewhere.  It's this one: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2399.  Would that work?

20ma is very week and thats still not enough data to know as it says in http://www.wiimoteproject.com/ir-pens/electronics-101-sharing-my-mistakes!-***-updated-***/ you need wavelength, Viewing Angle, Forward Voltage, Min Volatage, Max Voltage, etc.
