I've been looking at making my setup into a sort of booth. Maybe like a large rear projection TV type affair!

My current projector needs to be about 3m away from the rear pro screen I have 244cm x 18cm (305cm diagonal) It's a da-lite fastfold.  I put the wiimote on top of the projector. Calibration is usually around 82% but I still have issues in the corners and a dotted line. Maybe its the power to the LED that's sporadic?

I'd like to be able to have a smaller area behind the screen - that I can box in to make it all neater. I was wondering about using an Ultra Short Throw projector that will need less space - or else trying to fold the image using mirrors.

The other thing about using a booth would be it might help with reducing stray ir light.

Anybody have experience of this? One of my concerns is that with a shorter area - the wiimote might have trouble seeing the whole screen. Should I use 2 at the back in this instance? Or would I be better off looking at using freetrack and a webcam instead with a wide angle lens fitted?

I seem to have got to the bottom of this. My rather large purchase of the rear projection screen looks to have been a mistake the screen material appears to filter so much of the IR light - that I can't use it for rear projection in this setup. I'm really annoyed - as you can imagine.  I've been asking around and people have had success with thin cotton fabric and various other things like tracing paper on a window. Those are OK - but not great for me touring around at events with the setup!  I have found a supplier of spandex/lycra screens in Canada - but I don't know if these will be ok for letting the IR light through
