if I have 2 Wiimotes, theoretically I could track my IR pen in 3D space, and it may be useful if you want to make a model for AutoCAD or 3DMax?

Foxtwo
I saw a video some months ago were a Army Tech team created 3D Whiteboard Tracking software using two wiimotes (I tried looking for the Video but could not find it). So you could hold your IR-Source way from the board and it worked as though the use was drawing on the whiteboard. With the current 2D projects if you use the IR-source away from the calibrated whiteboard, if it is in the detectable area it will provide highly erroneous results.

So yes is possible, but is very end user specific.
