Hi All
Some may remember that I posted about a year ago about a University Honours Project I was doing on the Wii Remote. The project was to investigate the Remotes full capabilities and attempt to apply them to a core genre as core games using the Wiimote properly are non existant. The genre I picked was the FPS genre and I posted here last November when I was just starting asking for ideas and any info you guys could give. Heres that post:
http://www.wiimoteproject.com/project-ideas/a-game-programmers-honours-project/msg6759/#msg6759That has a bigger description of the project.
To be honest I forgot I posted here asking for help. At the time It helped loads with myself getting some good info from here and I got cracking on the project and focused fully on that. It wasn't until recently when Wiweeyum contacted me personally asking to read my dissertation that I remember about here. I was quite honored he sought me out and personally asked to read my work so I totally let him read it!
So how did I do? Well my aim to apply full motion controls to the FPS genre failed badly. The Wiimote wasn't capable at the time with quite a few key issues preventing all of my lofty initial ideas. I don't want to make this a wall of text ... maybe too late! So I thought I'd post a link to my dissertation here for anybody thats interested to read. I aimed to make just a paper that described all the realistic capabilities of the Wiimote which I could never find and hence why I did the project.
Dissertation:

I am very interested in sony#s motion tech tho so well see what happens when that comes out.
Thanks,
Grant.
