I have been thinking about how to extend the Guitar Hero concept.

The obvious way forward is to use the headtracking technique to measure headbanging skills.
Then the guitar is not the only gadget needed, as the wig becomes an equally important item.

i think the wiimote wouldn't be able to track the IR LED's that fast, but that's just a speculation. I'd go for the other aproach, where you mount the wiimote to someone's head (helmet?), then read the accel states of the wiimote

I think the wiimote could track pretty fast but the movement (to the wiimote) wouldn't me that much.

i think if you embed a wiimote into the wig you could use the accelerometer to track it but then you would have a large hard piece of plastic on your head that could fly through your tv at any one time.

but even if you had a few LED's in the wig, i think you could successfully track it unless you were trying to do spinal damage with 1000rpm headbangs.
