Hi all!!

First of all i want to say thanks to Johnny Lee and all of those who contributed to the DesktopVR project.

(I must say it's quite late in my country as i write this so any mistakes...sorry I'm sleepy)

Anyway what I wanted to do is to make an application that instead of showing images in a perspective way it would show my 3D models

I want something simple like this one but in which i put a 3d model of some sort instead of a molecule
I want to be able to visualize models so that i could do something like a spaceship in blender or 3DS Max and then put it in here or maybe even be able to some sort of VR environment?

I want to be able to do this with a Wiimote thou... think thats possible?

thanks a lot!!!

waiting for your answers....

Hello!

You can do this with the help of Papervision

check out this page
http://www.madvertices.com/search/label/Papervision%203D
(Desktop VR from Flash - Wiimote project #3)

fire up 3dstudioMax
export your model into the .DAE format
(use plugin if its not available in your version)

Use the .DAE in Papervision
Implement the code for Wiimote (with WiiFlash)

look at your model in 3d and move around...

I've put together a version that does this with a ".x" file.  The aim was to use the WiiVR as a headtracking project for an introductory university class where students do a little electronics, modeling and programming.  The changes are quite easy to implement and can be found on any of the direct3d in C# tutorial sites.  The only problems that you may find is the positioning of the model in the 3d space.  Once the course has finished running I may be able to put the code up online.

I'm trying (with 3 friends really X] )to make a program that reads the .obj object info to be presented in the screen and visualized with Johnny's app. We'll tell to u when we have this app running.

I tell you that now we have a demo version about this visualization with Johnny's idea of OBJ models, and we can put these different objects in the scene. We have a few bugs but we will post a video about our app in YouTube soon !!

Bye
