Hi guys !

Yesterday, I was thinking this project was so cool to stay just a demo. Two ideas came in my mind, so...

1/The "main problem" is how to integrate this into games or others programs. Maybe some of you already found this, but anyway, in case of, check http://www.trackir.com/ ; it's no more than just a commercial version of what Johnny did... BUT with a software that enable easy calibration, and wich allow the system to work with some games.
So maybe it's possible to use the software with it ? (Don't know if we can buy it separately, tough) Recreating a software like this looks hard.

2/If I talk about GlovePIE, I suppose everyone here knows what it is (at least Windows users Wink ) ; I'm not a programmer, but the possiblities looks a little more restrictive than DirectX SDK. But, I was wondering ; is there a way (at least, is it possible) to port some of Johnny's programs into GlovePIE language ?
What's the point ? Well, It's easier to modify, I think, but mainly, it's easier to work on others apps with... Depends how the scripts are done.

Voila, that's all. Hope my english sounds good Cheesy

Cheers from France !

well, trackir does more than what the wiimote can do in Johny experiment, because it can detect the face orientation, however, no game implementation of trackir use the dynamic perspective like Johnny Lee did.
There is the parallax but not the anamorphic effect

Yep, even if it's usable, actually there's no game optimized for... And as you say we can't use ALL of the possiblities. And I think it's not realistic to think it can be really adaptated (yet).

But, porting to glovePIE could be useful, for example, if I could port the "minority report" style script, it could be usable as a mouse. At least in theory. Yeah, it's tiresome to wave hands in air BUT looking so cool Smiley for 3D perspective, looks like it will stay a demo for the moment...

Anyway, I'll try to do something with PIE.

I think a cool implementation would be to create a "virtual" screen behind your current monitor.  That way you could have "crazy" resolution on your computer, by moving your head to view the picture.

So you would have your monitor closer than normal, and move your head to see the monitor that is in 3d space.  I don't imagine this would be extremely difficult to do, but it would make a 19" monitor into a 30" widescreen.

that would be cool,so, your saying that, you put in a widescreen tv on the program, and then you look close and you'll see the whole widescreen tv? that would be pretty cool. its possible also, you just have to program some pictures  in which isn't that hard

Problem would be to make it interactive (being able to click and so on)

what would ou need to touch when your watchig a fake widescreen tv, but i guess you might want to touch the power button or something for the more "real" effect. You could use a finger traking program, it wouldn't be too hard too do, it would just take a bit of programming
