My wiimote with smoothboard works ok for about 10 mins but then it loses its tracking. The tracking is off by about 2 inches to the right, ie I have to point the pen to the right 2 inches of the spot I want to point at. It's pretty annoying. I noticed someone else had an issue as well. I have not moved anything, it has been this way since I purchased the software in November 2011. I have been recalibrating each time this happens. I have great great tracking utilization of 44%, the wii is mounted off the ceiling and my projector is 2 feet behind the about 2 feet below the wii remote.

The only possibility that causes the tracking to be off is if there are some changes in the position or orientation of the Wiimote, Screen or Projector.

A very small change in the orientation of the Wiimote may the cursor to appear at the wrong position like your case.

You may want to try to use a tighter Wiimote holder.
