Hi all,
I have had a permanent setup in my classroom since last October. Simplist ideas are often the best and cheapest. I use an ocky strap and place the wiimote upside down on the side of the projector. I also designed a remote syncing system for free. Works perfectly. Now I don't have to get up, press the buttons with a metre ruler, rush back to my laptop and sync before it times out. It's all done from my desk. It's virtually invisible but faultless and free. Anyone can do it. Again you have to think that the simplist ideas are often the best!!!! I also have a 3 volt AC charger powering my wiimote so no batteries. It's also completely portable within seconds in case I have to go to another room. I just put the batteries back in. I'll post photos as soo as I have blurred out the children's faces for privacy issues.
Also, the ceiling mounted projector can be aimed to the floor for an interactive floorspace. I use a piece of melemine coated masonite. Children can then sit/lie on the floor and do interactive maths etc or I can put 4 children's desks together, place the board on them and they can sit around the board. They LOVE it. Yet another dimension to engaging stundents with their learning. I believe an interactive table used to cost about $8000 a year or so ago. Today, well how cheaply can you buy a wiimote???

It's the best system, works so seamlessly and reliablly but most importantly, the children just love it and get so much out of it. Now I have to set up the whole school. Can't wait.
