New to the project

I must say that since I saw this project a week ago I have been exceedingly intrigued by all of the projects out there involving the WiiMote. I have some parts on order (bluetooth dongle, IR LEDs, WiiMote, etc) and I will be getting started this weekend on trying out my own whiteboard.
With all of that said I would like to pose an observation and a question to the group. "Right click" functionality seems to be a common question, and is being addressed in a variety of different methods. (Just as a side note, I am not a particular fan of using multiple IR sources (pens, LEDs, what have you) as a solution because it lessens the number of available signals for multi-touch capability.)
Has anyone explored the possibility of a mimicking right click functionality using a pulse detection scheme?
I don't have the c# experience to dig into the code of the whiteboard software, but provided that the camera on the WiiMote could process the flashes at correct speed I know that I could design and build an IR pen for this. Essentially the pen would have the desired two buttons, one setup to provide constant power to the IR LED and the other connected to a circuit that would pulse the IR LED a number of times in a given timeframe and then cease pulsing.
So from a programming standpoint then, how difficult would it be to code something to detect a pulsing of the IR signal? For example, if the IR LED pulses 10 times in .5 seconds the software initiates a "right click" on the signals location.
The possible breakdowns on this theory are as follows:
- Does the WiiMote have the sensitivity to deliver a pulsing signal? (In the example above it would need to be able to handle about 20hz)
- Can the software be written to handle a pulsing signal without degradation of the current capability with a constant on signal?
Thanks in advance for any insight you might have on this subject,
Miko

I was doing some more digging around and discovered in a youtube video someone posted that the WiiMote is capable of tracking at 200hz? This would be well within the physical capabilities of my theory regarding pulsing signal if it is in fact true.
