Looking for some advice. I got the Wiimote recognized by my system last night and it tracks my IR pen (got a Streamlight IR Stylus from Amazon). So now it's a matter of how best to aim the Wiimote.

What I'm doing is creating a game table for tabletop games. I bounce a reflection onto my tabletop to display a map for gameplay. What I want to achieve is to set the projected image as a whiteboard so I can manipulate windows, maybe rudimentary drawings.  Here's images to the setup so far.

Any ideas on the best way to mount/point the Wiimote?

Look at Johnny's original video.  Mount the wiimote on a tripod looking down at your "board".  But it might work on the projector as well but that would require "reading" through the mirror.  With the tripod on the table you won't have to "go through" the mirror.

i dont think he could make it lay on the table. mount it on the ceiling looking down at the table maybe, or like previously said a tripod would work.

As for the effects, if you can control this with a mouse on your laptop, you can use an IR pen. a simple mod to the whiteboard app would allow you to change behavior as you needed it especially if you wrote the game board app yourself, then you could add in the wii stuff and it would be even cooler. I am totally for helping you figure out what you need to change, just post your questions and we can do that.

If you didnt write the game board app then a mouse control program (like the whiteboard app) would be good enough, we just need to know the behavior or the game app, like how do you remove the fog, and change maps, and scroll the map, etc.
