The following improvements on usability have been implemented based on the ideas of Antoni Ubieto:
Quote
- Added an intructions window at start.
 - Rearranged the main buttons.
 - Added more info messages in the calibration window.

Translations haven't been updated yet, feedbacks on the changes are appreciated. I will upload a new version until the new German translation and the rest is up to speed.

2004/04/18:
 - Made the 'done' messages show up properly, not visible all the time.
 - Added 'How To Use' and 'Calibration Window' spaceholders.

2004/04/20:
Finished designing the Instructions window. Please test out the new package and post any suggestions that you may have. After that I will send out notifications for translations updates.

Thanks,

I've got some problem calibrating the wiimote.

I'm using debian (lenny) and checked out the sources and compiled it a few minutes ago..

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it seems, that all IR motions are recorded and replayed a bit slow. After a few minutes I can calibrate my wiimote....

Is it just me who has this experience?

greets
Andreas

Whiteboard uses Cairo to draw the calibration window, which takes quite a lot of CPU if running without 3D acceleration and does perform slower than needed to calibrate successfully. I suppose you're using the vesa driver?.

If by 'a bit slow' you meant when after activating the pen then that is deliberate. Whiteboard uses a trick to smoothen the IR signal, which results in roughly a 1/4 second lag.

Hi!
I tried to repackage it for debian-unstable/sidux using the instructions here:
http://code.google.com/p/linux-whiteboard/wiki/BuildingWhiteboard

The packages work fine (that is install and the app starts) here but I am still waiting for some hardware (IR-stuff). So it will be a few
days before I can really start testing it.

There are some users at sidux interested in this stuff (including teachers) and my goal is to help improve it, get it into the debian-repos and maybe include it in the education-edition of sidux (so teachers could use it from a liveCD).

The package can be found here for now (there will be an apt-repository at some point):

Thanks to trash80 for hosting them.

Greetings,
