I basically have the same problem I think. I've only tried to run the whiteboard application but as soon as I do the screen goes black and my pc re boots. I'm new to bluetooth but I am a programmer. At this point I assume I am not following the directions correctly. In general, Ill explain what I have done so far.
Purchased a kensignton bluetooth USB adapter 2.0 - Model K33348B. I initially installed all their software hoping that I could get it to work. This software does in fact see my wiiremote, but it did not seem like it was able to fully connect. I would repeatedly get to a screen where it just didnt want to move forward like I asked it to. In any case, I'm avoiding it for now, assuming it might not support the wii fully and decided to try and get the recommended wii drivers to work
Downloaded the blue soleil drivers. Note I am new to blue tooth. It appears that it 'deactivated' my original drivers and has taken over as the default. I see the wii and I think I am able to connect to it through the classic view of their configuration application which more or less looks like the tutorial. Oh I should mention that the version I downloaded was no where near the version he used way back when (he mentions the version). I was not surprised and did not look for the old versions - took the latest. I'm a little concerned about some messages appearing (on startup of the pc) telling me first that I have a 5MB limit but then telling me something about the registration or something not being right. In any case, if I get to the point where I hope to get an answer from anyone here, I will be more specific. In general, my impression is that its working (soleil drivers) even though I seeing some errors that I believe is more or less a result of me using the evaluation version and then possibly related to getting an id off of my wii
Installed C# express. As far as I can tell this went smooth enough. The IDE comes up upon request. Im not at the point where I want to edit any code yet however, so thats about all I felt I needed to see. (Im a Java programmer over the last 5 years but started out in C 15 years ago).
I guess my only point here is that your not alone. I hope to get it to work soon because im on vacation (have some extra time now) but either way, I will get this to work. then work on understanding the code better and finally I think we should create an action game with Johnny as the hero. He may not have invented all this stuff, but hes brought to a lot of peoples attention the potential available to all of us with some pretty standard hardware.
In any case, Ill hopefully post something helpful in the near future. just starting to dig now through this stuff.
