Title: Can't get past passkey screen...
Post by: drixomanbeta on May 28, 2010, 06:16:16 PM
Hi, I'm quite new to using bluetooth so this post might not have the information you need to resolve my issue but please bear with me...

OS: Windows XP Pro SP2
Bluetooth stack and version: I am not sure but I have a ThinkPad T500 so it came with a Lenovo's driver that I just installed

Screen sump: sry but I'm using a chinese system and I just did a re-install of XP and have a lot of other driver I need to install, I'll post a pic later but for now I have a ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate II (driver provider apparently by Broadcom) under Blutooth device category in Device Manager.

I installed BlueSoleil 6.xx over thi official driver from Lenovo before and it worked but I can't pay for bluesoleil so I don't if what I have is good enough...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

It is recommended to use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack as the connection process will be more convenient. You can try to uninstall your current Bluetooth stacks and use the Bluetooth Installer, http://www.bluetoothinstaller.com to install the MS Bluetooth Stack.

If you are using the Widcomm stack, you will just need to press ALT+S to skip the passkey screen.

I tried that but it failed to detect my adapter...It mistaken my fingerpringt sensor (which I haven't installed driver for) for a bluetooth thing...

I like to reiterate that I used bluesoleil over the provided driver and it works perfectly, however I can't pay for it so it should be that my adapter IS compatible, but other than that I can't get it to work as with my driver it keep asking for the passkey which I cannot skip.
