Title: Connection problem ( 7 x64 pro, Toshiba/windows stack, Azio BTD-V201 )
Post by: Wolvenmoon on November 01, 2010, 03:33:21 PM
Alrighty, here's what I have. I've read TONS of guides and everything.

Windows 7 x64 pro, a Nintendo OEM remote, an Azio BTD-V201 bluetooh V2.1 + EDR class 1 bluetooth adaptor, and I've tried with the same result with both the Toshiba and the Windows bluetooth stack.

Regardless of what program I use ( Barring Dolphin, which made my wiimote show up as 'player 1', but I couldn't get it to do anything with it ), I can get the wiimote to connect to my computer, but the lights keep flashing as if it were trying to make a connection and no program ( Smoothboard, glovePIE, wiiremoteconnect-0.6, wiinremote_v2007.1.13 ) can do anything with it. Even after loading Dolphin up to where the wiimote shows up as 'player 1', none of the programs read data from the wiimote neither on the Toshiba nor Windows bluetooth stacks.

I don't know what I need to do. I'm attempting to make a head mouse to use with Dragon Naturally Speaking for hands free access to my computer.

Hi,

If possible, you  may want to get an original Wiimote to try out.

OEM or clone Wiimotes may not connect well to the computer.

This is one that came with the system. Sorry if I wasn't clear! :)

Please do post a screenshot of the HID Device list in the Device Manager.

here's my HID list, my bluetooth settings panel, and the device properties of the game controller that should be the wiimote.

Seems like your HID Device List contains many installed devices similar to the other thread.

You may want to try to remove all the devices listed there.

Remove them as in how? Just deleting them will have both my keyboards and my mouse and Dragon naturally Speaking and my Wacom tablet not working.

I'll do something I did to get my OCZ Sabre keyboard working and use USBDeView to kill all my HID USB things so that they'll all reinstall. They'll still be there, just, not all at once.

I removed them all, reinstalled the controller, it didn't work. So in frusteration I went upstairs and snatched another one of our wiimotes, the piano black one. Lo and behold, it worked immediately.

So should I kill the Toshiba stack and go with the Windows stack? This is a workstation system for CGI and every single bit of RAM I have free makes a difference, unless the Toshiba stack is much better. I won't be using bluetooth for anything but this.

Hi,

Great to hear that it works now.

If you are using Bluetooth only for the Wiimote, then you may want to use the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack instead as you can connect automatically with SmoothConnect.
