Thanks for all this...
I have a Belkin F8T016 (mini adapter) using the WIDCOMM stack. I've spend hours just trying to get past the pairing of the Wiimote and the adapter.
What worked for me was
1) uninstalling the Bluetooth software through add/remove programs, Widcomm - (do a restart)
2) Following:
http://www.shootingsoftware.com/Widcomm.htm- Find the bth.inf file (do a search in the windows directory - mine was in \windows\Servicepackfiles\i386)
- Adding the line:
Kensington USB Bluetooth Adapter= BthUsb, USB\Vid_0db0&Pid_697a
with the "Kensington .... Adapter" replaced with whatever and the correct "USB\Vid....." as found following directions.
- delete the entry (yellow question mark!) from the device manager and remove the adapter. RESTART the computer (maybe this is not necessary) and MANUALLY search for the "inf" file. Get windows to search the directory of the bth.inf file. If the install stalls looking for the "i386" folder as it did for me, just get rid of the extra i386...
The yellow question mark and the old adapter name kept showing up (as it did for JAH)
Everything seems to work fine. Except when I need to reconnect - often I have to add the wiimote again.
Now to try it at school.
Thanks - hope this helps someone else...
