Wiimote Project

Yes. I removed all the HID devices and switched to a wired usb mouse... Tested it out and it didnt work. I even restarted and redid this a couple more times. I also removed the bluetooth radio and tried it elsewhere, same thing...

For some reason, the program keeps crashing when its suppose to work???

What do you test my wiimote? With a Wii?

I'm having the same problem but I have more data on why it happens.

I succesfully connected the wiimote to my dell laptop (windows vista and Visual studio 2008).
If I run the test application that comes with the wiimotelib, everything works fine.

But, when I run (debug or release) the multigridpoint project I also get the error of "Cannot read from Wiimote - is it connected".

I tried to write my own allication that use the wiimote library and found out what seems to be the problem.

If I just put a windows form, call the connect method and on the event handler of the wiimote object state change method I try to set a text of a control on the form I get an error about "possible synch problem between threads".

In order to solve it, I added a delegate object and from the event handler called the delagee.
When ever the project has the followin gline, you get the "cannot read from wiimote" error. when I comment this line, everything works fine:
delegate void SetTextCallback(string x, string y);

I have no idea how to solve this...

Where did you get your wiimote? I wounder if it is stuffed?

Do you know someone with a Wii console I would test the Wiimote or I would borrow a working Wiimote and see if that fixes your problems.

It is definately strange that it doesn't work in some many settings. Hence the common is your Wiimote. But before you run out and buy one I would try & borrow first.

I know a few ebay sellers are selling busted Wiimotes (I have one myself).

You phone connects under a different driver. The HID is a much more common driver (loaded with any keyboard, mouse, tablet, etc). Your problem is a HID drive conflict, the one loading is not correct, your computer thinks it is but its not hence the problem you are having.

By loading Widcomm you will hopefully override your microsoft HID. Or try the Bluesoleil trial if it works then less hacking involved.

Your other option is to rebuild you HDD starting with a new HID driver.
