Yes you need an IR-Pen or an stationary IR-Source (like a sensor bar).

Thank You Ben for having the patience with me. I am ever getting closer to the final destination.

I bought the Nyko Wireless Sensor Bar and I am hoping it is working, but unlike the pictures here: http://media.gear.ign.com/media/884/884504/img_4319709.html , I do not see the red LED's behind the plastic, just the bright blue one.

I mention this because it seems that I have confirmed it does connect. In WiinRemote and in GlovePie I can get it to use the wii remote as a mouse, but it stays in the top right corner and for some reason when I use the calibration in Glove Pie, it won't detect any buttons to go to the next calibration step.

Smoothboard detects teh buttons, but will not detect the wii movement.

Still frustrating, but getting closer.

In smoothboard, set to presenter mode. Go to advanced settings. As you wave the wiimote arroung you'll see grey tick apear next to the accelerometer settings. Make sure the IR is enabled then use a candle as the stationary IR-Source.
Wave away, the candle is not the best but will get you started.

I will run some test in the morning at those settings in smoothboard testing between the IR Bar and a candle to see if either work.

ben,

I still have not fully fixed the issue, but I was unable to continue resolving the process for a week as someone mistook my bluetooth as their thumbdrive, so I needed to get it back.

I do know I need to get a improved IR Device as I feel some of my problems lie there.

What is currently happening is that I can get Smoothboard, glovepie and wiiusej to all see my Wiimote, activate the buttons and see that there is wii movement, but the movement either does not work or goes crazy.

In Glovepie, I am not getting the buttons to show "okay" or "no" in the calibration section. I am guessing this could be causing some of the craziness there. Do I need to download anything to make GlovePie work? I ask because on one PC it seems to work better than on media center. Both running Vista, BlueSoliel, and the same bluetooth.

MC BT? I assume you are talking about the Microsoft Stack? They have all been removed. The Stack setup was from Bluesoleiel.

MC = Media centre
Even when you think all is well it only takes a random peice of registry linked to the HID to cause this. Hence why works well on your PC but on MC different results.

I suggest you follow the instructions in the guide to block MS BT (I think delete BTinf.ini and a few other files, but check what i have written in the guide).

Ben,

I should have specified media center. It is a media center in usage, not in form. Both PC's run the exact same copy of Vista Home Premium..... could it be hardware differences. I think one is an ati, the other an intel.

Ben,

Well, I decided to try the candle method over the POS wireless IR bar and I was able to get some good movement in Smoothboard. I am still unable to get Glove Pie working ideally, though it did show mouse movement when running Test. What is the ideal script to use?

Hi,
My answer was about your first comment

"After reading a few tutorials where people recommended using bluesoleil I tried that, but eventually learned that my particular USB was not supported by their program. I uninstalled bluesoleil and installed my hardware's drivers which does show a connection to the WiiMote. I was also able to get WiiMoteConnect to connect to the device without any issues.

My problems lies in that with trying Smoothboard, the wiimote gives errors of not being able to connect, while in GlovePie, it shows no connect at all."

Dotnetfx.exe whic is available in Microsoft's website fixes that problem and I am not working right now with any Glovepie script.
Take care

eyucel,

Thank you. I am actually past that currently. I now have a connection, just trying to get GlovePie to work as a mouse.
