That's weird as you have 4 devices listed there. Do you have 4 HID devices on your computer?

Have you tried removing the other entries too?

Yes I removed all entires. Then I restart my computer and a few of them re-install right away. The bluetooth mouse makes 2 of the entries. The wiimote adds like 3 or 4 more to the list. I don't know what they all are. I don't understand this stuff at all. I hate bluetooth with a passion and this is why. I am going to just give up. Clearly it can't be done on my computer or if it can, it's not worth me wasting any more time on it. As far as I am concerned, wiimote on a pc can only be done for certain equipment that I just dont have and never will. Maybe after a few more years there will actually be a solution that works for everyone.

I tried removing them all. The Bluetooth HID Device is my bluetooth mouse. The rest re-appear when I try to connect the wii remote.

i have tried different bluetooth dongles as well. Same problem. clearly something about my computer or os itself will not ever work with the wii remote. Have no idea what the problem could be. I give up.

If connecting the Wiimote adds the long list of HID-compliant consumer devices, then indeed there may be issues with your OS drivers.

Boon,

A list of compatible hardware, would be VERY helpful. Can you come up with an exact model of computer / bluetooth hardware / bluetooth stack / operating system / operating system updates (i.e. .net framework 3.5) that will GARANTEE a QUICK and stable connection between the Wii-mote and Smoothboard?

We are saving people so much money with this system that they can actually afford a brand new computer with the savings, so let's make sure that they buy the right computer and other hardware.

It is actually quite straightforward.

We do recommend users to purchase the Bluetooth dongles that are sold by our resellers which uses the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. This is regardless whether the computer has already built-in Bluetooth. For our laptops here, we are using the Mini Bluetooth Adaptor without any issues.

Disable the pre-existing Bluetooth adaptor, and plug in the Bluetooth dongle and let it install.

Load Smoothboard and SmoothConnect will appear. Press the 1+2 buttons on the Wiimote repetitively until it is connected.

If it is Windows 7, the user may need to disable the automatic Windows Update search for the device as specified in the Smoothboard manual at http://www.smoothboard.org/manual
