Title: wiimote never becomes enumerated. all 4 lights blink endlessly.
Post by: mission2ridews on April 21, 2008, 07:00:24 PM
I have BlueSoleil release 050606 installed on my Dell Precision M65 with the Dell wireless 350 TrueMobile internal USB bluetooth module

My hardware was apparently not supported by that version of BlueSoleil; I got it working by applying the hack described here:
http://www.wiili.org/forum/bluesoleil-solution-for-not-supported-adapters-t794.html (http://www.wiili.org/forum/bluesoleil-solution-for-not-supported-adapters-t794.html)

I have my wiimote connected properly according to the tutorial here:
http://www.wiili.org/index.php/How_To:_BlueSoleil (http://www.wiili.org/index.php/How_To:_BlueSoleil)
my screen looks identical to the final image in that tutorial.

I let windows automatically install the "Bluetooth HID Joystick" that appears in the device manager after finishing the connection tutorial.
afterwards, "HID-compliant game controller" appears in the device manager as well, (can anyone confirm that this is normal?)

Ever since I put the wiimote in discovery mode to connect to it in the tutorial, it appears to have remained in discovery mode.
The for lights at the bottom of the wiimote are blinking simultaneously, indicating that the device is in discovery mode.

Since Johnny Lee's Wii Desktop VR application appears to require that at least one remote be somehow enumerated as "player 1" That is, that the first light at the base of the wiimote is lit and the rest are not. he says in the readme that he has no idea how the wiimotes get enumerated.

Does anyone know how to get the wiimote to become enumerated as player 1?

I am having the same type of problem.  I am on a hp dv6000 with windows vista.  It does not have integrated bluetooth so I bought a Cirago USB Bluetooth Device which came with BlueSoleil.  I can get it to detect and connect with the wiimote but once connected the four lights (or now three since the battery is starting to run low) blink continuously till I disconnect it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem too! I am using widcomm drivers on my desktop computer and bluesoleil on the laptop. My laptop used to be able to connect to my wiimote but I have a different wiimote now and it won't connect :( I have never successfully connected a wiimote on my desktop computer on xp.

I have ubuntu on another partition and the whiteboard program works fine but I really want it to work with xp so that i could play some games with my wiimote and all that kool stuff. :)

It seems that Wiimotes become enumerated based on the order of feedback from the programs they are operating in.

For example the first remote you add via bluetooth will not enumerate as player 1 until it receives feedback from a program.

I tested this with two wiimotes by first adding one via bluetooth, and starting the whiteboard program, then adding a second wiimote and opening another instance of the program. they enumerated in order that time. Then i added both before starting the white board program and the second one i added was player one.

However this does not tell me how the programs or wiimotes decide which one will get the feedback. It should address your problem though, just go ahead and start the white board program and see if the wiimotes enumerate, be sure to let me know if your findings are consistent with mine!

YES!!! i think i figured it out. i've had this problem for a while, somewhere in between connecting and opening the program there was a problem. going over all the different threads helped me out, but this is what i did:
*note that i'm using windows vista on a dell xps m1330 laptop with external bluetooth cause bluesoilel doesn't work with integrated bluetooth for some reason.*

1) check the HID drivers, i had two because i borrowed a friends wiimote to test before i bought mine. His worked but mine didn't
2) go to bluetooth places where your wiimote is listed
3) unplug and delete it if it's already there, ensure it's not on your bluetooth device list. Now when i did this the driver in my HID list disappeared (both of them since i deleted both)
4) finally i re-added my current wii-mote and only one driver appeared so it worked again.

Linking to the last post i think that having a second wiimote cause some sort of problem. In any case i deleted the first (and second) then added the second. Now it works. Can't say for sure that this is a dead on solution for everyone, but this is what i did and maybe this will help someone else.

Good luck!
