All
When I start WiiDesktopVr I get a "Wiimote not found error".
The Wiimote is connected before starting the program. I'm using a bluetooth dongle with BlueSoleil with Win Xp.
I have the newest .netframework and DirectX.
Can any one steer me in the right direction?

i would recommend trying other wii apps like the mutlipoint grid or the whiteboard app. you could even go to codeplex and get the wiimote lib to see if the basic test app works.

The problem was my version of bluesoleil.  I upgraded and it works fine.  Thanks for the other links.

I have the same problem.
I am using my macbook and i am running Windows Vista. My wiimote is connected with the default bluetooth driver: Apple Built-in Bluetooth alongside with Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator.
After connecting the wiimote and trying out the WiimoteTest.exe that is found with the WiimoteLib download, my wiimote is registering everything correctly..., but WiiDesktopVr still says I do not have a wiimote connected. I had tried using BlueSoleil, but version 2.6 was not picking up the wiimote, and then i upgraded to version 5.0.5 and then it would only register as "Can not start Bluetooth. Bluetooth hardware is not found."
I have DirectX 10...since it is automatically installed with Vista and I have installed Visual C# Express...even though this program doesn't require it, but since the finger tracking software required it, I decided to install it as well (I installed it before running anything).

DirectX shouldnt be the problem in this case. I think it has something to do with bluesoleil. It seems that it isnt recognising your bluetooth device (not your wiimote, your bluetooth device). I dont know if there are drivers for the build-in bluetooth devices of mac for windows vista, since mac is not actually supporting windows vista.

but my default bluetooth drivers are picking up the wiimote, and the WiimoteTest.exe is working...does it just work or something with bluesoleil even if my bluetooth recognizes it?

and i have also tried to alter the wiimote.cs code that was suggested in the "i can't get my *insert Johnny's App name here* to connect Help!" forum post... which would try to match the WiimoteLib source, but it is still not working.

I had exactly the same problem. I could connect to my computer by the default drivers, and the test.exe worked, but the other projects didnt. Then i just downloaded the most recent version of bluesoleil, i installed it, and then it worked perfectly, so i dont know if that helps you.

my main problem is that bluesoleil does not recognize the bluetooth adapter in my mac, but i found that i could modify some files described at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6355965 i could get it to recognize the adapter, and after i did that bluesoleil recognized it but could not connect to it. i can't figure out the reason why it can't connect...
